asana & Freshdesk

Create To-Do in asana when new Ticket is created in Freshdesk.

  • There is no direct integration available for the same, we can do it in two ways :
  1. by using Zapier (IOT for business apps).
  2. by email forwarding

Purpose of Integration :

  • Reduce distraction for the internal team by having them on one platform and save creating multiple Users in Freshdesk.
  • Generate Reports for the Team and their task from the one platform.

Type 1 : using Zapier

Step 1 : Create a project for Support in asana : there can be multiple projects in the asana , by creating separate project it will be easy to identify for the tasks related to support and can have complete view at one place.

Step 1 a : Create a Section in the same project. i.e. Support Tickets (Optional)

Step 2 : Login to Zapier

Step 4 : In Zapier under the section explore, search Freshdesk and select , search asana and select.

Step 5 : Select the Zap named as : Add asana to-dos from new Freshdesk tickets

Step 6 : Authenticate Freshdesk and asana accounts (see video how to authenticate)

Step 7 : Customize Actions for the Trigger.

Step 8 : Activate the Zap

Type 2 : using e-mail forwarding

Step 1 : Create a project for Support in asana : there can be multiple projects in the asana , by creating separate project it will be easy to identify for the tasks related to support and can have complete view at one place.

Step 2 : select the e-mail for the project from asana (see video how to get the e-mail for the Project)

Step 3 : In Freshdesk add this email for the project as an customer and name it according to your ease of identification. i.e. ‘Forward Support’ so that it is not required to check the project email again and again when forwarding it to asana

Step 4 : In Freshdesk just forward the email to this user/customer. (see video how to authenticate)

Step 6 : task will be created in asana with the subject line as task name.

Note : by using email forwarding you can only send/forward those tickets to internal team which required their intervention or help.
